Dr. Arian Nowbahari is an Italian film director, painter, and electronic engineer based in Oslo, Norway. He is the CEO and Founder of New Spring Productions™, an independent film studio specializing in cinematic storytelling, and works as a Senior Application Engineer at Sony Semiconductor Solutions.

He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Micro- and NanoSystems from the University of South-Eastern Norway (2023), following B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. His research focuses on low-power electronics, sensor interfaces, and imaging systems, and his work has been published in leading international journals. He has also served as a visiting researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY, USA) and as a peer reviewer for multiple scientific journals.

Alongside engineering, he maintains an active artistic practice. As a painter, he is represented by Saatchi Art and has exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at the Archaeological Museum of Olbia and Nordic Black Theatre in Oslo, as well as collective exhibitions across Italy and Norway. His work has been featured in the Aesthetica Artists’ Directory.

As a filmmaker, he has led award-winning productions across Europe and the United States, earning over 24 awards and 18 official selections at international festivals across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. He has directed and produced short and feature films, experimental works, and videos for Sony Europe, including conference presentations and internal storytelling projects. He has also served as a festival juror, evaluating international submissions.
